In a brand new interview with Access Online, Terry Crews revealed that Brooklyn Nine-Nine has ditched all of its accomplished scripts for season eight within the wake of nationwide Black Lives Matter protests in opposition to police brutality.
The plan is for showrunner Dan Goor and the writers to reengineer the deliberate season for the cop comedy in mild of the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks and others who have been killed by police.
“They had four episodes all ready to go and they just threw them in the trash,” Crews mentioned. “We have to start over. Right now we don’t know which direction it’s going to go in.”
“We’ve had a lot of somber talks about it and deep conversations and we hope through this we’re going to make something that will be truly groundbreaking this year,” the actor, who performs Lieutenant Terry Jeffords on the sitcom, added. “We have an opportunity and we plan to use it in the best way possible.”
